This little blog is focused on the convergence of two hobbies of mine, the first being tracking player development in the minor leagues. I use a blend of statistical analysis and traditional scouting methodology to do this, in an effort to project for future performance. My other interest lies in baseball cards, but only as a vehicle for achieving a return on investment (ROI), which is the basic premise of what is known within the hobby as 'prospecting'. My goal is to highlight players at various levels that I believe are worthwhile investments, while providing insight into what products are the best to purchase from a ROI standpoint. With enough research, patience, tenacity and diversification, I honestly believe that prospecting can be both financially and personally rewarding, and I hope to inspire others to give it a shot.
